Internet Information Services (IIS) - formerly called Internet Information Server - is a set of Internet-based services for servers created by Microsoft for use with Microsoft Windows.
The servers currently include FTP, HTTP/HTTPS, IMAP4, INET, NNTP, POP3, and SMTP.
This SonicWALL signature identifies legitimate IIS traffic. This detection is based on a UUID found during an RPC call. Due to the lack of documentation, it is not always possible to determine the exact version of an application based on UUIDs. Please see the "Microsoft RPC End Point Mapper" signature(s) for more information. |
