Browsec is a VPN and browser proxying software. It allows users to bypass firewall policies. It is available as both a browser addon (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc), and as a smartphone app. It has several modes of operation. The browser addon/extension encrypts your traffic and routes it through an SSL connection to proxy gateways. Alternatively, the smartphone app creates a legitimate IPSec (ISAKMP) tunnel over UDP to protect network traffic from firewall detections. To block Browsec addon/extensions simply enable DPI-SSL CI, or enable the Application Control signatures for Browsec. To block the IPSec VPN over UDP you must enable the ISAKMP Application Control signatures.
This SonicWALL signature identifies Browsec tunnel traffic.
