Ares is an open source peer-to-peer file sharing application that uses its own decentralized supernode/leaf network. The latest versions also support the BitTorrent protocol and Shoutcast radio stations.

To detect and prevent all Ares client traffic, all BitTorrent and SHOUTcast signatures must be enabled as well.

This SonicWALL signature identifies legitimate Ares traffic.
