| Skype was founded to develop the first P2P telephony network. However, the client provides functionality that may be against network policy. The Skype client is an application providing encrypted connectivity with other Skype users to make VoIP calls, exchange files, and chat over IM.
This SonicWALL signature identifies one of several modes of network communications from Skype, but not all. In order to block Skype, you must all signatures in the application, as well as SIDs 5, and 7.
