Application: VNC (Remote Frame Buffer)
Remote Frame Buffer (RFB) is a protocol to provide remote access to graphical user interfaces. RFB can be used by users with both Windows and Mac operating systems. More recent iterations of RFB contain more advanced compression, security, and file transfer features. RFB is used is Virtual Network Computing, and while it has great flexibility as it pixel-based, other protocols such as RDP have a greater understanding of the desktop and send simpler, higher-level commands. The most commonly known RFB client program is VNC (Virtual Network Connections).
